First Annual Newport Beach Wine & Food Festival – Press Release

I love Newport Beach! There are so many casual and fine dining restaurants, great shopping malls, the beautiful beaches, not to mention the wonderful people in the community. I’ve attended a few food and wine festivals and I am super excited we are getting our very first Newport Beach Wine & Food Festival this year. It’s happening this weekend starting on Friday night, September 19 – 21, 2014.

More than 30 well known local restaurants are participating. The list includes RED O Restaurant, Lark Creek Newport Beach, 24 Carrots Catering and Events, The Loft, Tommy Bahama Island Grille, The Crow Bar and Kitchen, Blue C Sushi, Back Bay Bistro, Five Crowns, Del Frisco’s Grille, just to name a few.
The festival will also showcase live cooking demos with many celebrity chefs. Many of them I am sure you recognize. From Top to bottom, left to right: Chef Rick Bayless, Owner of Red O Restaurant, Chef Rick Moonen, Chef of the Year by the Monterey Bay Aquarium 2011, Chef Sue Zemanick, Executive Chef of Gautreau’s Restaurant, Chef Richard Blais, winner of Top Chef All Stars, Chef Shirley Chung, Top Chef Season 11 contestent and Owner of Twenty Eight Restaurant, Chef Jamie Gwen, our own Celebrity Chef, Certified Sommelier and four-time Cookbook Author, Chef Joe Youkhan,  crowned champion of  Food Network’s cooking competition, Chopped and Owner of Youkhan’s Tasting Spoon. More than 45 wineries and spirits will also be serving delicious drinks.  This is not only a fun and tasty event, 100% of all net proceeds will also help Project Hope Alliance and Hoag Hospital Foundation.
