Ever thought about trying more than one restaurant at a time? Join the folks at Dishcrawl and experience a gourmet food tour to four distinctive restaurants in one night. It’s like a pub crawl—but more delicious! Dishcrawl, a national start-up founded on the premise that communities can be brought together through good food and good company made its way to Downtown Fullerton recently.
Our first stop and meeting place was JP23 BBQ and Smokehouse. It has a feel of a sports bar with lots of big screen TVs throughout. Patrons can enjoy great bar drinks with BBQs.
We were served Smoked Artichoke Dip, Smoked Chicken Wings and Smoked Rib Tips. The restaurants makes its own BBQ sauces. I really liked Chipotle which has a little heat but honestly they are all good.

Our second stop was Bourbon Street where owner John and chef Martin, served us up some classic Cajun Gumbo, Bacon Mac and Cheese and Blackened Sole.
The Cajun Gumbo was a big hit with Dishcrawlers. It was flavorful with a nice but not overpowering heat. The Blackened Sole was tender and mild. And the Bacon Mac & Cheese, well, I don’t know anything that doesn’t taste good with bacon. 😉
Our third stop took us to Matador Cantina where we got to sample Chorizo Ravioli, Chicken Mole Enchiladas and a savory piece of Shortrib atop a Potato Pancake.
What better way to finish our last stop but at Layer Cake Bakery? We were treated with deliciously Speculoos Macaroon, Affogato Shot and a New York Style Cheesecake layer on top of Chocolate Cake with Chocolate Ganache. Layer Cake Bakery also serves breakfast and lunch, organic tea and coffee.
The next Dishcrawl is coming to the heart of Orange. Taste of Circle will take place on Wednesday, August 14, 2013 @ 7:00pm. This is perfect for a girls or guys night out, so grab a ticket before they are sold out! Enjoy and tell me all about it.
