California has such a diverse culture. While some restaurants take the traditional approach, KHG (Kentro Hospitality Group) which owns Kentro Greek Kitchen and El Amerikano, \u00a0believes culinary world should be ever-changing and fluid. After all, isn’t that what ‘Culinary Art’ is all about? Combining American classic with Latin flavor, the menu at El Amerikano offers a wide range of dishes to please everyone, even those with special dietary needs will find plenty of vegetarian and gluten-free items to enjoy.<\/p>\n

\"\"The restaurant interior is sleek with olive green walls, dark wood tables and black tufted leather seats. The ordering process is similar to its brother restaurant, Kentro Greek Kitchen. You place your order and pay at the cash register. You get a place card with number that you display by the table you choose to sit. Food will be brought over when they are ready.<\/p>\n

During the media tasting, we sampled many items from the menu.
\n\"\" Cucumber Ceviche Salad (avocado, almonds, roasted corn, tomato, goat cheese, shallots). This dish hits home for me as I love cucumber. The creaminess from the avocado and cheese combine with nutty almond and roasted corn made this simple dish extra delicious.\u00a0\"\"Warm Mushroom Salad (cabbage, eggplant, goat cheese, pepitas, sweet peppers). Did you know mushroom provides\u00a0important nutrients, including selenium, potassium, riboflavin, niacin, vitamin D and more. But I ate these because they were tasty good, not just good for me.\u00a0\"\"Brussels Sprouts (chirozo, crema fresca, almonds, cotija, jalape\u00f1o). I’ve had brussels sprouts many times before but this was probably my favorite. Lots of flavor with a small amount of heat.\u00a0\"\"Mole Eggplant (ancho chile, guajillo, cotija, corn strips, chive). Bet you never’d guess these were eggplants. Don’t let the chile scare you. The sweetness from the eggplant balanced the heat very well.\u00a0\"\"Executive Chef Konstantine (aka Dino) was on hand to desmonstrate how he made Al Pastor glaze for the Al Pastor Chop pork chop (al pastor glaze, farro salad). A pinch of this and a litte of that, ah, he made it look so easy! LOL!\u00a0\"\"I thought it would have been a really spicy dish from the look of it but was pleasantly surprised how subtle it was so that you could still taste the full flavor of the pork chop. I also appreciated the farro salad instead of mash potato or fries.

Asada Brava char grilled rib eye (Latin rub, creamed corn poblano) was a favorite for any beef lover. Beautifully presented, it was juicy, tender and flavorful.<\/p>\n

There are so many more dishes on the menu including sandwiches, burgers and desserts. The restaurant also serves bottled and draft beer and a long list of wines. Thinking of hosting a party? They have a great catering menu as well. So come check it out!<\/p>\n
