Recognized for its contemporary Mexican fare that uses fresh ingredients and organic products whenever possible. The menu created by Consulting Chef Cathy Shyne and Executive Chef Chris Tzorin draws inspiration from the coastal community and its surroundings in Southern California. Whether it&#8217;s brunch, lunch or dinner, you will find dishes that will please your eyes as well as your palates. There are also Afternoon Menu, Fish Taco Bar, Taco Tuesday and Kids Menu. OC restaurant is coming up around the corner on March 1st through March 7th. So check out the special menu and make a reservation.<\/p>\n<p>It was a weekday evening that Wendy and I made our way down to Tortilla Republic Laguna Beach for a\u00a0<span style=\"line-height: 1.5;\">5 course customized tasting from Executive Chef Chris Tzorin, Consulting Chef Cathy Shyne, and Pastry Chef Katie Shyne.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-7071\" src=\"http:\/\/wendyfulworld.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/02\/18-6986-post\/jpg29.jpg\" alt=\"jpg29\" width=\"700\" height=\"575\" srcset=\"https:\/\/wendyfulworld.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/02\/18-6986-post\/jpg29.jpg 700w, https:\/\/wendyfulworld.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/02\/18-6986-post\/jpg29-300x246.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 700px) 100vw, 700px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>What made it even more special was the fact that each meal was complemented by premium mezcal and tequila tastings. Of course it all started with <strong>homemade chips and a salsa trio of salsa de mesa, salsa de tomatillo fresca and salsa de papaya habanero<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-7068\" src=\"http:\/\/wendyfulworld.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/02\/18-6986-post\/jpg26.jpg\" alt=\"jpg26\" width=\"548\" height=\"700\" srcset=\"https:\/\/wendyfulworld.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/02\/18-6986-post\/jpg26.jpg 548w, https:\/\/wendyfulworld.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/02\/18-6986-post\/jpg26-235x300.jpg 235w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 548px) 100vw, 548px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The menu started with <strong>Bocadito<\/strong>, a <strong>spicy cucumber mint<\/strong> and<strong> citrus<\/strong> bites in a spoon spiked with <strong>tequila<\/strong> and <strong>tortilla strips<\/strong>. It came with our first drink the <strong>El Rey<\/strong> (Pierde Almas La Puritita Verda Mezcal, Herradura Silver, Fresh Agave Lime Sweet) which was very refreshing and everyone enjoyed it.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-7065\" src=\"http:\/\/wendyfulworld.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/02\/18-6986-post\/Collages57.jpg\" alt=\"Collages57\" width=\"700\" height=\"490\" srcset=\"https:\/\/wendyfulworld.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/02\/18-6986-post\/Collages57.jpg 700w, https:\/\/wendyfulworld.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/02\/18-6986-post\/Collages57-300x210.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 700px) 100vw, 700px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The next course was a\u00a0<strong>Spanish Chorizo Clams<\/strong> with <strong>smoked paprika<\/strong>, <strong>fennel<\/strong>, and <strong>pino ranchero herb sauce<\/strong> with some <strong>asiago toast<\/strong>. It&#8217;s dish like this that turns a non-seafood lover into a seafood lover. It was so moist and tasty. I must say the preparation was quite creative. Don&#8217;t think we have ever had salmon prepared this way.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-7066\" src=\"http:\/\/wendyfulworld.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/02\/18-6986-post\/Collages58.jpg\" alt=\"Collages58\" width=\"548\" height=\"700\" srcset=\"https:\/\/wendyfulworld.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/02\/18-6986-post\/Collages58.jpg 548w, https:\/\/wendyfulworld.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/02\/18-6986-post\/Collages58-235x300.jpg 235w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 548px) 100vw, 548px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Chateaubriand Steak<\/strong> was a favorite with <strong>whipped purple potatoes<\/strong>, <strong>chimichurri<\/strong>, p<strong>armesan stuffed tomato<\/strong>, <strong>ancho chile <\/strong>with a<strong> cabernet reduction<\/strong>. Although our filet mignon was done medium well, it was still very tender and flavorful. Before it was served, we where treated to the\u00a0<strong>Feria de Jalisco Anejo<\/strong>. It was more like an after dinner liquor and reminded me of Grande Marnier with it&#8217;s citrus like aroma.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-7086\" src=\"http:\/\/wendyfulworld.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/02\/19-6986-post\/TequilaRepublic-49b.jpg\" alt=\"TequilaRepublic-49b\" width=\"700\" height=\"490\" srcset=\"https:\/\/wendyfulworld.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/02\/19-6986-post\/TequilaRepublic-49b.jpg 700w, https:\/\/wendyfulworld.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/02\/19-6986-post\/TequilaRepublic-49b-300x210.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 700px) 100vw, 700px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Then finally came the <strong>Tangerine Short Cake<\/strong> with <strong>champaign tequila mouse<\/strong>, <strong>hibiscus infused pomegranate <\/strong>and<strong> tangerine<\/strong>. A wonderful ending to a great evening of delicious food and drinks.<\/p>\n<p>You probably have had wine pairing menu or even beer pairing menu. Have you ever tried the tequila pairing menu?
