The beautiful decorations, joyous music, family gathering and PRESENTS! I hope you got lots of presents from Santa this year. In 2 more days, we&#8217;ll be ringing in 2015. Are you excited? Allen and I had a great 2014. We met so many wonderful people, many of them became friends and clients. We look forward to a better and brighter 2015!<\/p>\n<p>How will you ring in the new year? Scrumptious food and wine of course. Then you definitely want to make your reservation at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.tamarindoflondon.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Tamarind of London<\/a> in Newport Beach. Executive Chef\u00a0<span style=\"color: #444444;\">Imran Ali and Pastry Chef\u00a0Mark Medina have prepared a special New Year Prix Fixe menu that will have your palate singing and your tummy dancing the happy song!\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">(Photos by <a href=\"http:\/\/allentaylorphotography.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Allen Taylor Photography<\/a>)<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"pp-insert-all size-full aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/wendyfulworld.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/12\/jpg.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"700\" height=\"490\" \/>The dinning room is decorated with Christmas trees, garlands and wreaths. Together with the already festive red interior, the atmosphere is even more festive.\u00a0<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"pp-insert-all size-full aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/wendyfulworld.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/12\/Collages1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"700\" height=\"575\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Our tasting began with <strong>Papadum<\/strong> (Lentil Chips) served with\u00a0<span style=\"color: #444444;\">\u00a03 chutney sauce; <strong>Cilantro Mint<\/strong>, <strong>Smoked Tomato<\/strong> and <strong>Tamarind Ginger<\/strong>. These chips are thinner and lighter than the Naan chips we had last time but are just as good.\u00a0<\/span><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"pp-insert-all size-full aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/wendyfulworld.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/12\/Collages.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"700\" height=\"490\" \/><\/p>\n<p>For the drinks, I asked for a <strong>Pomegranate Margarita. <\/strong>It&#8217;s not on the menu but the bartender kindly mixed it for me.\u00a0Allen got the <strong>Tower of London<\/strong> (Pinnacle Gin, St. Germain, freshly muddled cucumber and basil, fresh lime). Our server, Frankie, was great at making recommendation, so don&#8217;t be shy to ask.\u00a0<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"pp-insert-all size-full aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/wendyfulworld.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/12\/Collages2.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"700\" height=\"575\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The open kitchen with traditional\u00a0<span style=\"color: #444444;\">circular tandoor oven never stops. I&#8217;ve got to kudos to the chef working there. It IS hot!\u00a0<\/span><br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"pp-insert-all size-full aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/wendyfulworld.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/12\/Tamarind2014-110.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"700\" height=\"490\" \/>First Course on the Three-Course New Year menu is <strong>Tamarind Platter<\/strong>. You have a choice of non-vegetarian or vegetarian. The non-vegetarian (pictured above) consists of \u00a0<strong>malai chicken<\/strong>&#8211;<strong>garlic shrimp<\/strong>&#8211;<strong>spinach kebab<\/strong>&#8211;<strong>grilled organic quinoa<\/strong>.<br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"pp-insert-all size-full aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/wendyfulworld.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/12\/Tamarind2014-112.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"700\" height=\"490\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The vegetarian platter includes\u00a0<strong>spinach kebab<\/strong>&#8211;<strong>aloo tikki<\/strong>&#8211;<strong>potato croquet<\/strong>&#8211;<strong>grilled organic quinoa<\/strong>. You can&#8217;t go wrong with either choice. In fact unless you are dining alone, I&#8217;d recommend you get both to share.\u00a0<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"pp-insert-all size-full aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/wendyfulworld.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/12\/Tamarind2014-142.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"700\" height=\"490\" \/><\/p>\n<p>There are five entree selection for second course. The\u00a0<strong>Tandoori Bihari Steak<\/strong> (pictured above &#8211;\u00a0<strong>tri tip<\/strong> cut-<strong>brown onion<\/strong>&#8211;<strong>garlic ginger puree<\/strong>&#8211;<strong>mustard infused oil<\/strong>&#8211;<strong>cranberry chutney<\/strong>\u00a0) is new to me. It has a slight smokey flavor, kind of reminded me of American BBQ but with India spices.\u00a0<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"pp-insert-all size-full aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/wendyfulworld.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/12\/Collages3.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"700\" height=\"575\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The\u00a0<strong>Spiced Chicken Vindaloo<\/strong> (pictured above top right &#8211;\u00a0<strong>chicken chunks<\/strong>&#8211;<strong>baby potato<\/strong>&#8211;<strong>spiced gravy<\/strong>) is an absolute favorite! But really, we love\u00a0<strong>Kashmiri Rogan Josh<\/strong> (above lower right &#8211;\u00a0<strong>Australian lamb<\/strong>, <strong>classic lamb curry<\/strong>&#8211;<strong>Kashmiri chili pepper<\/strong>) and\u00a0<strong>Butter Paneer<\/strong> (above lower left &#8211;\u00a0<strong>Indian cottage cheese<\/strong>, <strong>buttery-tomato sauce<\/strong>) as well. The Butter Paneer actually tastes like Mozzarella cheese to me, not cottage cheese. It is an vegetarian dish that will delight even non-vegetarian dinners.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"pp-insert-all size-full aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/wendyfulworld.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/12\/Tamarind2014-147.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"700\" height=\"490\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The\u00a0<strong>Salmon Johl<\/strong> (<strong>poppy seed crusted Atlantic salmon<\/strong>, <strong>Moilee curry<\/strong>, <strong>pickled onions<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>spinach rice<\/strong>) is the mildest curry of the five entrees. I am glad to see there is an option for non-meat eater or seafood lover.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"pp-insert-all size-full aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/wendyfulworld.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/12\/Tamarind2014-164.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"700\" height=\"490\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Everything is served family style, so everything gets to enjoy the festivity. Bring the whole family because you know\u00a0loving is sharing.<br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"pp-insert-all size-full aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/wendyfulworld.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/12\/jpg2.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"700\" height=\"575\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Third course is dessert. On the menu listed is\u00a0<strong>Triple Chocolate Torte<\/strong> (<strong>dark chocolate mousse<\/strong>, <strong>Godiva white chocolate Bavarian cream<\/strong>,<strong>\u00a0Red curry ice cream<\/strong>)\u00a0but Pastry Chef\u00a0<span style=\"color: #444444;\">Mark Medina wanted us to try his beautiful Rasmalai. What a delicious dessert to complete our feast!\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>This special menu is only served on New Years eve, December 31, so if you haven&#8217;t made your reservation yet, CALL NOW!
