sushi lover.\u00a0 There are only a couple of raw fish I would eat because I am extremely sensitive to &#8216;fishy&#8217; smell or taste.\u00a0 Maybe I had a bad experience, which I could no longer remember but subconsciously aware of, or maybe it is purely psychological, but if it looks or smells fishy, I won&#8217;t touch it.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Most times when I go to sushi restaurants, I order cooked items or (&#8220;gasp&#8221;) sushi rolls.\u00a0 I know, I know.\u00a0 I already said I was a &#8216;fake&#8217; sushi lover, didn&#8217;t I?<\/p>\n<p>I first learned of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.sushinoguchi.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Sushi Noguchi<\/a> from Julie Lim who is the owner of <a href=\"http:\/\/ocwinemart.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">OC Wine Mart &amp; Wine Tasting Bar <\/a>.\u00a0 She had been here a few times and raved about the authenticity and freshness of the sushi so Allen and I came a couple of months ago.\u00a0 Our first encounter was, well, a little disappointing.\u00a0 When Julie read my review on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.yelp.com\/user_details?userid=VVMqxCARIOdUzpqngpFMgA\" target=\"_blank\">Yelp<\/a>, she decided that I needed to go with her to try the OMAKASE (The expression is used at sushi restaurants to leave the selection to the chef) to truly appreciate the variety of sushi one can devour on.\u00a0 She gathered 7 of us Yelpers and we went on a sushi safari.<\/p>\n<p>The restaurant is located on the corner of Yorba Linda Blvd and Lakeview in Yorba Linda.\u00a0 Not the best location because it&#8217;s not visible from street view.\u00a0 The decor is very minimalist with white and natural wood as primary decors.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-631\" title=\"Noguchi-3\" src=\"http:\/\/wendyfulworld.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/09\/Noguchi-3.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"850\" height=\"601\" srcset=\"https:\/\/wendyfulworld.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/09\/Noguchi-3.jpg 850w, https:\/\/wendyfulworld.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/09\/Noguchi-3-300x212.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 850px) 100vw, 850px\" \/><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-627\" title=\"Noguchi\" src=\"http:\/\/wendyfulworld.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/09\/Noguchi.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"551\" height=\"850\" srcset=\"https:\/\/wendyfulworld.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/09\/Noguchi.jpg 551w, https:\/\/wendyfulworld.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/09\/Noguchi-194x300.jpg 194w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 551px) 100vw, 551px\" \/>Chef, Hiro-san, and his lovely wife, Jun-chan run the restaurant personally.\u00a0 As soon as we arrived, they welcomed us as if we have been old friends for a long time.\u00a0 <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-629\" title=\"Noguchi2\" src=\"http:\/\/wendyfulworld.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/09\/Noguchi2.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"665\" height=\"850\" srcset=\"https:\/\/wendyfulworld.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/09\/Noguchi2.jpg 665w, https:\/\/wendyfulworld.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/09\/Noguchi2-234x300.jpg 234w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 665px) 100vw, 665px\" \/>The restaurant serves a daily lunch special.\u00a0 On this particular day, the lunch special consisted of a deep fried something, chicken with some sauce on top, and green beans along with miso soup and rice.\u00a0 It looked yummy, but we got bigger meal waiting for us.\u00a0 <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-628\" title=\"Noguchi1\" src=\"http:\/\/wendyfulworld.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/09\/Noguchi1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"665\" height=\"850\" srcset=\"https:\/\/wendyfulworld.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/09\/Noguchi1.jpg 665w, https:\/\/wendyfulworld.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/09\/Noguchi1-234x300.jpg 234w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 665px) 100vw, 665px\" \/>Our OMAKASE started with Halibut Sashimi with Chivas Oil (upper right) and Jumbo Scallop Sashimi with Uni.\u00a0 The Halibut was very tender (OK, you are going to see this word a lot), and the Chivas Oil complimented it so well.\u00a0 I have never eaten raw scallop so I was really hesitant to try it.\u00a0 I took a very small piece and was surprised at how sweet it was.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-630\" title=\"Noguchi3\" src=\"http:\/\/wendyfulworld.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/09\/Noguchi3.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"850\" height=\"601\" srcset=\"https:\/\/wendyfulworld.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/09\/Noguchi3.jpg 850w, https:\/\/wendyfulworld.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/09\/Noguchi3-300x212.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 850px) 100vw, 850px\" \/>Guess what foodies do?\u00a0 Yep, we were all taking pictures!\u00a0\u00a0 No one eats until all the pictures were taken!!!\u00a0 LOL!\u00a0 Our spouses, significant others, and children all know the drill.\u00a0 <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-642\" title=\"Noguchi-18\" src=\"http:\/\/wendyfulworld.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/09\/Noguchi-18.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"850\" height=\"601\" srcset=\"https:\/\/wendyfulworld.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/09\/Noguchi-18.jpg 850w, https:\/\/wendyfulworld.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/09\/Noguchi-18-300x212.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 850px) 100vw, 850px\" \/>Next up was Amuse Bouche &#8211; Deep Fried Sweet Potato, Green Beans (the sauce was a bit sweet), and Clam.\u00a0 All were very good.\u00a0 <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-632\" title=\"Noguchi4\" src=\"http:\/\/wendyfulworld.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/09\/Noguchi4.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"850\" height=\"601\" srcset=\"https:\/\/wendyfulworld.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/09\/Noguchi4.jpg 850w, https:\/\/wendyfulworld.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/09\/Noguchi4-300x212.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 850px) 100vw, 850px\" \/>The Fresh Albacore Toro Sushi literally melt in your mouth!\u00a0 It was amazing!<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-633\" title=\"Noguchi5\" src=\"http:\/\/wendyfulworld.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/09\/Noguchi5.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"665\" height=\"850\" srcset=\"https:\/\/wendyfulworld.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/09\/Noguchi5.jpg 665w, https:\/\/wendyfulworld.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/09\/Noguchi5-234x300.jpg 234w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 665px) 100vw, 665px\" \/>Normally I don&#8217;t like Yellow Tail Sushi because it&#8217;s too sweet for me, but these with Jalapeno Sauce were excellent.\u00a0 The little slice of jalapeno pepper kicked this up a notch. \u00a0 <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-634\" title=\"Noguchi6\" src=\"http:\/\/wendyfulworld.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/09\/Noguchi6.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"665\" height=\"850\" srcset=\"https:\/\/wendyfulworld.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/09\/Noguchi6.jpg 665w, https:\/\/wendyfulworld.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/09\/Noguchi6-234x300.jpg 234w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 665px) 100vw, 665px\" \/>I LOVE tuna and this Marinated Tuna Sushi didn&#8217;t disappoint.\u00a0 I don&#8217;t remember if I even chewed it.\u00a0 It just disappeared in my mouth in a second.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-635\" title=\"Noguchi7\" src=\"http:\/\/wendyfulworld.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/09\/Noguchi7.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"665\" height=\"850\" srcset=\"https:\/\/wendyfulworld.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/09\/Noguchi7.jpg 665w, https:\/\/wendyfulworld.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/09\/Noguchi7-234x300.jpg 234w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 665px) 100vw, 665px\" \/>The Shimaaji (Jack Mackerel) was surprisingly good. I was afraid it would be too fishy to me, but not at all.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-636\" title=\"Noguchi8\" src=\"http:\/\/wendyfulworld.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/09\/Noguchi8.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"665\" height=\"850\" srcset=\"https:\/\/wendyfulworld.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/09\/Noguchi8.jpg 665w, https:\/\/wendyfulworld.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/09\/Noguchi8-234x300.jpg 234w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 665px) 100vw, 665px\" \/>Now, the Aji Sushi was a bit too adventurous for me, so I skipped it.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-637\" title=\"Noguchi9\" src=\"http:\/\/wendyfulworld.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/09\/Noguchi9.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"665\" height=\"850\" srcset=\"https:\/\/wendyfulworld.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/09\/Noguchi9.jpg 665w, https:\/\/wendyfulworld.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/09\/Noguchi9-234x300.jpg 234w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 665px) 100vw, 665px\" \/>Chef Hiro-san busily making his masterpiece.\u00a0 We also spotted 2 beautiful Japanese ladies wearing traditional Kimono.\u00a0 So cool!<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-638\" title=\"Noguchi10\" (max-width: 665px) 100vw, 665px\" \/>The Live Sweet Shrimp Sushi was quite a piece of art.\u00a0 Unfortunately I don&#8217;t do raw shrimp, but the deep fried shrimp head was so good!<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-639\" title=\"Noguchi11\" src=\"http:\/\/wendyfulworld.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/09\/Noguchi11.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"665\" height=\"850\" srcset=\"https:\/\/wendyfulworld.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/09\/Noguchi11.jpg 665w, https:\/\/wendyfulworld.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/09\/Noguchi11-234x300.jpg 234w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 665px) 100vw, 665px\" \/>The Blue Crab Sushi wrapped in Tofu skin was very interesting.\u00a0 I squeezed a little bit of lemon juice to counter the sea taste.\u00a0 But really it didn&#8217;t taste fishy.\u00a0 The Toro with Green Onion was excellent.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-640\" title=\"Noguchi12\" src=\"http:\/\/wendyfulworld.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/09\/Noguchi12.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"665\" height=\"850\" srcset=\"https:\/\/wendyfulworld.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/09\/Noguchi12.jpg 665w, https:\/\/wendyfulworld.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/09\/Noguchi12-234x300.jpg 234w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 665px) 100vw, 665px\" \/>We were stuffed,but we couldn&#8217;t pass on the desserts!\u00a0 This Millie Cake was a little, actually BIG, piece of heaven!\u00a0 Soft, creamy, and light.\u00a0 I basically ate the whole piece by myself.\u00a0 The Crepe with Green Tea Ice Cream was very refreshing and perfect ending to our OMAKASE lunch!<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 665px) 100vw, 665px\" \/>See the big smiles on everyone&#8217;s face?\u00a0 If only you could see our tummies!!!\u00a0 It was such a fun time hanging out with all my foodie Julie, for showing me the way.\u00a0 Thank you, Chef Hiro-san and Jun-chan, for creating the most exquisite sushi I&#8217;ve ever had and for your hospitality!\u00a0 I know I will be back to try
