{"id":5061,"date":"2013-11-28T22:18:50","date_gmt":"2013-11-29T06:18:50","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/wendyfulworld.com\/?p=5061"},"modified":"2017-05-23T11:29:49","modified_gmt":"2017-05-23T18:29:49","slug":"we-give-thanks","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/wendyfulworld.com\/?p=5061","title":{"rendered":"We Give Thanks"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I am thankful for so many reasons and for so many people. \u00a0Friends and family who have been there to support and love me unconditionally. \u00a0This year Allen and I had an opportunity to give back by volunteering at We Give Thanks, an organization in it&#8217;s 27th year of helping those who are less fortunate by\u00a0bringing the community together on Thanksgiving Day for a special holiday meal, entertainment, and meeting place. \u00a0The event took place at the Honda Center; approximate 15,000 meals would be served.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"pp-insert-all size-full aligncenter\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/wendyfulworld.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/11\/Collages5.jpg\" width=\"850\" height=\"700\" \/>I was really impressed at how well organized the event was. \u00a0Cars and people moved quickly and orderly. \u00a0Volunteers had been cooking for 3 days prior to today&#8217;s meal serving. \u00a0Wow! \u00a0<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"pp-insert-all size-full aligncenter\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/wendyfulworld.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/11\/Collages4.jpg\" width=\"850\" height=\"700\" \/>Allen and I volunteered as part of Sprouts Farmers Market which is one of the many sponsors for the event. \u00a0The meal consisted of Turkey (white and dark meat), Stuffing, Carrots, Mash Potato &amp; Gravy, Dinner Roll, and Pumpkin Pie. \u00a0Everything smelled and looked wonderful! \u00a0Judging by the happy faces, they tasted delicious, too. \u00a0<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"pp-insert-all size-full aligncenter\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/wendyfulworld.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/11\/WeGiveThx_JPG.jpg\" width=\"850\" height=\"601\" \/>Allen and I met so many wonderful people. \u00a0It&#8217;s so heart-warming to see so many people and businesses come together to help one another. \u00a0The smiles I saw today, especially from the children, were priceless!
