{"id":4572,"date":"2013-10-14T22:56:38","date_gmt":"2013-10-15T05:56:38","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/wendyfulworld.com\/?p=4572"},"modified":"2017-05-23T11:31:03","modified_gmt":"2017-05-23T18:31:03","slug":"los-angeles-time-the-taste-part-i-field-to-fork-media-tasting","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/wendyfulworld.com\/?p=4572","title":{"rendered":"Los Angeles Times | The Taste Part I &#8211; Field to Fork &#8211; Media Tasting"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>It was sort of a spur of the moment when I decided to apply for press pass to <a href=\"http:\/\/events.latimes.com\/taste\/\" target=\"_blank\">Los Angeles Times | The Taste<\/a>.\u00a0 Many of my blogger friends raved about it.\u00a0 I checked it out online and was so impressed by all the schedule of events, feature chefs&#8217; demos, and sponsors\/exhibitors.\u00a0 I had very little expectation to be accepted into such a notable event so you can imagine my excitement when I got my press passes for both days!<\/p>\n<p>Over the 2 1\/2 days span, food enthusiasts got to feast on food and drinks from over 120 restaurants and 100 wine &amp; spirits shops at the beautiful Paramount Pictures Studios, Hollywood.\u00a0 The cooking demos were not only fun to watch but also educational.\u00a0 I was so impressed by how well organized the event was.\u00a0 All of the sponsors worked tirelessly in prepping the food and there was never a shortage.\u00a0 Although there were a lot of people, the lines moved fairly quickly.\u00a0 It was pretty hot but there were cooling tents for people to chill. Water stations were everywhere to quench your thirst.\u00a0 There were lots of tables\/chairs for people to sit and enjoy their food.\u00a0 Trash bins were placed by each tent and cleaning personnel were quick to pick up any trash as soon as they saw it anywhere.\u00a0 The environment was immaculate!<\/p>\n<p>Each day featured 2 themes.\u00a0 On day 1, the morning theme was Field To Fork hosted by Russ Parsons &amp; Michael Cimarusti.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"pp-insert-all size-full aligncenter\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/wendyfulworld.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/10\/jpg74.jpg\" width=\"850\" height=\"595\" \/><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"pp-insert-all size-full aligncenter\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/wendyfulworld.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/10\/Collages319.jpg\" width=\"665\" height=\"850\" \/>There was a chalk board for people to sign.\u00a0 I, of course, had to leave a print of Wendyful World.\u00a0 \ud83d\ude09<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"pp-insert-all size-full aligncenter\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/wendyfulworld.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/10\/Collages302.jpg\" width=\"850\" height=\"699\" \/>The Good Girl Dinette made these delicious buttery peach, apricot, and plum hand pies.\u00a0 <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"pp-insert-all size-full aligncenter\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/wendyfulworld.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/10\/Collages280.jpg\" width=\"665\" height=\"850\" \/>Stella Artois&#8217;s beer by far was the most well received drinks.\u00a0 You also get a really nice glass with each drink along with a velvet bag.\u00a0 Allen and I took home 4 glasses.\u00a0 <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"pp-insert-all size-full aligncenter\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/wendyfulworld.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/10\/Collages281.jpg\" width=\"665\" height=\"850\" \/>There were a lot of Tequilas.\u00a0 This one by Karma Tequila.\u00a0 <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"pp-insert-all size-full aligncenter\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/wendyfulworld.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/10\/Collages282.jpg\" width=\"850\" height=\"595\" \/>Even the Chocolate Doctor was on call by Dorda Double Chocolate Liqueur. <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"pp-insert-all size-full aligncenter\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/wendyfulworld.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/10\/Collages283.jpg\" width=\"850\" height=\"595\" \/>Melissa&#8217;s Produce Company provided some fruit cups and cookies while Hamasaku made Hokkido Scallop with Yuzu-Apple Ceviche.\u00a0 <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"pp-insert-all size-full aligncenter\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/wendyfulworld.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/10\/Collages284.jpg\" width=\"850\" height=\"595\" \/><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"pp-insert-all size-full aligncenter\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/wendyfulworld.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/10\/Collages299.jpg\" width=\"665\" height=\"850\" \/><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"pp-insert-all size-full aligncenter\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/wendyfulworld.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/10\/Collages303.jpg\" width=\"665\" height=\"850\" \/>STK Los Angeles sponsored both days&#8217; events and put out different samples for each 1\/2 event. I absolutely loved everything from them.\u00a0 <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"pp-insert-all size-full aligncenter\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/wendyfulworld.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/10\/Collages305.jpg\" width=\"665\" height=\"850\" \/>Bagatelle Los Angeles made some amazing macarons.\u00a0 <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"pp-insert-all size-full aligncenter\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/wendyfulworld.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/10\/Collages304.jpg\" width=\"665\" height=\"850\" \/>Momed showcased Duck &#8216;Shawarma&#8217;, Avocado Hummus, and Muhammara. The Curious Palate cooked up some yummy Szechuan Spiced Baby Back Ribs.\u00a0 <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"pp-insert-all size-full aligncenter\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/wendyfulworld.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/10\/Collages306.jpg\" width=\"665\" height=\"850\" \/><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"pp-insert-all size-full aligncenter\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/wendyfulworld.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/10\/Collages315.jpg\" width=\"665\" height=\"850\" \/>Muddy Leek&#8217;s Chicken &amp;
