This was only the second Cuban restaurant I’ve been to, so I can’t say I I know what authentic Cuban food should taste like.\u00a0 But frankly, I don’t care which cuisine any restaurant cooks up, as long as it tastes good, I am game.<\/p>\n

Allen and I were meeting a few friends for dinner.\u00a0 Since they live in Fullerton, I thought I would look for something near them.\u00a0 I searched on Yelp<\/a> and Moros Cuban Restaurant was on the top of the list with 4 1\/2 stars rating.\u00a0 I also saw a Mexican restaurant with similar rating, but my friends decided to try Moros.<\/p>\n

The restaurant is located in a strip mall in La Habra.\u00a0 The exterior is rather plain but the interior is cozy and warm with red tile counter, earth-tone walls with city scape silhouette on one side and dancer silhouette on the other.\u00a0 As many reviewers on Yelp have mentioned, the staff is very friendly and welcoming.<\/p>\n

\"\"While Allen and I waited for our friends, the server brought a basket of dinner rolls with bean dip.\u00a0 The dinner rolls were nothing special, but the bean dip was quite good.\u00a0 I later asked for something spicy and got a jar of habanero chili\/onion.\u00a0 ‘Be careful with it’ was what she warned me.\u00a0 I only used a tiny spoonful and it was burning!<\/p>\n

\"\"We ordered some Chicken and Beef Empanadas and Deep Fried Mash Potato Filled with Meat (sorry, can’t remember the name and can’t find them on their website) for appetizers.\u00a0 These were smaller than what I had before but were pretty good.\u00a0 The sauce that came with the empanadas was really good!<\/p>\n

Knowing that the Paella Valenciana was going to take awhile to cook, I placed the order as soon as we got there while we were waiting for our friends to arrive.\u00a0 It was ready for us was soon as we were done with the appetizers.\u00a0 Perfect!\u00a0 This was made with saffron rice with flavors of aromatic herbs, saut\u00e9ed in cast-iron skillet with fresh clams, mussels, fish and calamari, chicken and Spanish chorizo.\u00a0 I thought it was quite flavorful.<\/p>\n

\"\"\"\"Allen and our 2 other friends ordered the Pollo Asado which is chicken roasted in orange -garlic herb and served with mojo sauce.\u00a0 I thought it was bland.\u00a0 The chicken was tender but not much flavor to it.\u00a0 It needed some more ‘MOJO’!!!\u00a0 \"\"One of our friends ordered Arroz Frito Cubano which is Teriyaki-soy wok-fried rice, with smoked ham, pork, shrimp and chicken, scallions and bean sprouts.\u00a0 This was really good fried rice.\u00a0 I never knew Cuban used Teriyaki soy!<\/p>\n

\"\"For desserts, we tried the Flan, Rice Pudding, Bread Pudding, and Cuban Guava with Cream Cheese.\u00a0 Honestly, I didn’t care for any of them.\u00a0 Rice pudding was too watery.\u00a0 I didn’t try the Flan because I don’t like it.\u00a0 The bread pudding tasted more like custard than bread.\u00a0 And the guava didn’t taste anything like guava.\u00a0 All I tasted was the cream cheese.\u00a0 I would skip dessert next time and go to Yogurtland for some yummy yogurt! \"\"<\/p>\n
