@ Newport Beach Fashion Island &#8211; Media Tasting"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>If you know me, you&#8217;d know I love lemonade, as in a drink.\u00a0 When I first learned about Lemonade, the restaurant, I was quite intrigued.\u00a0 Is it a juice shop like Jamba Juice?\u00a0\u00a0 I had to check it out.\u00a0 Well it turns out, it does have great lemonades in several flavors but even more, it is a restaurant serving &#8220;Seasonal Southern California Comfort Food in a fast-casual cafeteria setting&#8221;.\u00a0 There are currently 12 Lemonade locations; 11 of them in Los Angeles with the 12th opening at Fashion Island Mall in Newport Beach on August 19, 2013.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">(Photos by <a href=\"http:\/\/www.allentaylorphotography.com\/\" src=\"http:\/\/wendyfulworld.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/09\/Collages272.jpg\" width=\"665\" height=\"850\" \/><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"pp-insert-all size-full aligncenter\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/wendyfulworld.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/09\/jpg70.jpg\" width=\"665\" height=\"850\" \/>I loved the architecture design, color scheme, and the use of &#8216;lemon slice shaped&#8217; light fixture.\u00a0 It&#8217;s bright, fresh, and relaxing.\u00a0 <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"pp-insert-all size-full aligncenter\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/wendyfulworld.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/09\/jpg71.jpg\" width=\"850\" height=\"699\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Understand that most people are short on time but looking for healthier alternatives than fast junk food for their family, Lemonade combined fresh quality ingredients with convenience.\u00a0 Whether it&#8217;s for lunch or dinner, Chef and Founder Alan Jackson and partner, Chief Operating Officer, Ian Olsen offer diners a &#8220;choose-your-own-adventure&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"pp-insert-all size-full aligncenter\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/wendyfulworld.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/09\/Collages270.jpg\" width=\"850\" height=\"699\" \/>You start at the beginning of the counter, you grab a tray and selecting from a buffet of prepared hot and cold dishes displayed at the counter.\u00a0 As with all Lemonade locations, the eatery offers around twenty marketplace salads, slow-cooked braises, artisan sandwiches, soups, decadent desserts and of course quenching flavors of lemonade.\u00a0<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"pp-insert-all size-full aligncenter\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/wendyfulworld.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/09\/Collages269.jpg\" width=\"850\" height=\"699\" \/><\/p>\n<p>1Unique to the new Orange County location will be a wood burning oven for roasting vegetables and flat-breads and a rotisserie for preparing whole roast rib-eye, leg of lamb and chicken.\u00a0<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"pp-insert-all size-full aligncenter\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/wendyfulworld.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/09\/jpg73.jpg\" width=\"850\" height=\"699\" \/><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"pp-insert-all size-full aligncenter\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/wendyfulworld.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/09\/jpg72.jpg\" width=\"850\" height=\"699\" \/><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"pp-insert-all size-full aligncenter\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/wendyfulworld.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/09\/Collages271.jpg\" width=\"850\" height=\"699\" \/>With so many choices, I have to admit, Allen and I had a hard time choosing what to sample.\u00a0 We tried to get just a little bit of each.\u00a0 Everything was delicious!\u00a0 <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"pp-insert-all size-full aligncenter\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/wendyfulworld.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/09\/Collages273.jpg\" width=\"665\" height=\"850\" \/><\/p>\n<p>We sampled 15 of the 20 MarketPlace sides.\u00a0 Among them, some of my favorites were:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Tandoori Chicken, Mango, Yogurt, Jalapeno, Tamarind<\/li>\n<li>Cauliflower, golden raisins, almonds, curry<\/li>\n<li>Avocado, cherry tomato, pine nuts, lime<\/li>\n<li>Kale, mushrooms, kumquat vinaigrette<\/li>\n<li>Red quinoa, arugula, fuji apple, sunflower, pistachio<\/li>\n<li>Brussels sprouts, sherry, parmesan<\/li>\n<li>Israeli couscous, wild mushrooms, parmesan, lemon truffle<\/li>\n<li>Figs, arugula, blue cheese, sherry vinaigrette<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"pp-insert-all size-full aligncenter\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/wendyfulworld.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/09\/Collages274.jpg\" width=\"665\" height=\"850\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The Garlic Lemon Chicken (above top) was moist and tender.\u00a0 The Chicken Spring Roll is similar to Vietnamese Spring Roll. <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"pp-insert-all size-full aligncenter\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/wendyfulworld.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/09\/Collages277.jpg\" width=\"850\" height=\"595\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The Chicken Apple Salad (above upper left) was absolutely delightful.\u00a0 Chicken Chili (above upper right) was a healthier version than Beef Chili.\u00a0 The Red Miso Short Rib (above lower left) was excellent.\u00a0 The Beef Stroganoff (above lower right) was a new twist from the traditional one.<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"pp-insert-all size-full aligncenter\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/wendyfulworld.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/09\/Collages278.jpg\" width=\"665\" height=\"850\" \/>I was especially impressed with the gigantic macaron!!!\u00a0 <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"pp-insert-all size-full aligncenter\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/wendyfulworld.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/09\/Collages279.jpg\" width=\"665\" height=\"850\" \/>You can not come here without ordering the lemonades!\u00a0 We got the Old Fashioned one and Blueberry Mint.\u00a0 And Allen, the cookie monster, had to have a cookie.\u00a0 <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"pp-insert-all size-full aligncenter\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/wendyfulworld.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/09\/Lemonade-89b.jpg\" width=\"850\" height=\"595\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Did I say I was fascinated with the gigantic macaron?\u00a0 LOL!<\/p>\n<p>The restaurant offers an abundance of seating in the bright, modern 3,800 square-foot space, which includes both indoor and outdoor seating, just steps away from the Fashion Island movie theater.\u00a0 Next time you are here at Fashion Island, stop by Lemonade after a day of shopping or before\/after catching a
