<\/p>\nWhat used to be Daphne’s Greek Cafe is now Daphne’s California Greek.\u00a0 Whatever its name is, I like it just as much.\u00a0 I first visited Daphne’s in 2008 when there was one location near my house.\u00a0 I was very sad when it closed because it was one of my favorite place to grab a quick bite.\u00a0 It is a much healthier alternative to burgers, pizza or fried chicken.<\/p>\n
About a month ago, I received an invitation to try their new items to its summer menu, I couldn’t wait.\u00a0 Allen and I picked the Brea location right in the heart of Brea Promenade as it was the closest to us.<\/p>\n

The layout in all location is pretty much the same as you’d expect from a chain restaurant.\u00a0 After glancing at the menu, we placed our orders.\u00a0 The manager and staff were very helpful and friendly.\u00a0 One thing I am impressed with Daphne’s is that no matter which location I visited, everyone has been very welcoming.<\/p>\n

Flatbread seems to be a very popular item in every restaurant now, so we ordered the Pepperoni (Pepperoni, mozzarella cheese and savory tomato sauce).\u00a0 I don’t think you can find anyone who doesn’t like Pepperoni.\u00a0 \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n

Mango Chicken Salad (Grilled chicken and fresh chipotle mango salsa atop mixed greens and feta cheese tossed with a balsamic hummus dressing) is new on the menu.\u00a0 I am so happy they added this because it has 3 of my favorite ingredients: mango, salad, and balsamic dressing.\u00a0 It’s for a limited time only, so come try it.\u00a0 Whether you eat it for lunch or dinner, t is a perfect summer entree.<\/p>\n

Mini Pita Trio is also new on the summer menu.\u00a0 The name is ‘mini’ but I thought they were pretty good sizes.<\/p>\n

Allen and I enjoyed all 3.\u00a0 You can’t go wrong with this.\u00a0 The chicken and gyros were flavorful and tender and the pita bread were warm and soft.\u00a0 All of the toppings were fresh and complimented the protein well.<\/p>\n

I also decided to try the 3-course dinner for $7.99.\u00a0 This is a STEAL!\u00a0 You get a starter, an entree, and dessert!<\/p>\n

I chose Lemon Chicken Soup as my starter.\u00a0 I loved how light and refreshing this soup was.<\/p>\n

For the Entree, I chose Grilled Chicken Kabob with Fries and Cilantro Lime Brown Rice.\u00a0 I’ve always liked the Chicken Kabob.\u00a0 I didn’t taste the cilantro in the rice as much as I thought I would.\u00a0 But I appreciated that it was offered as one of the sides.<\/p>\n

I got this cookie for Allen because you know he is the cookie monster.\u00a0 Needless to say, he was very happy.\u00a0 \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n
