<\/p>\nI always knew ‘Hapa’ meant half Asian.\u00a0 When I first heard about Hapa Cupcakes, I naturally thought it must have been created by people of mixed racial heritage.\u00a0 I was sort of right but not quite.\u00a0 The pair of best friends, Akemi and Hanayo, grew up in a bi-racial family.\u00a0 They fully embrace the two different cultures and took it further and developed their cupcake recipe by incorporate traditional ingredients mixed with alcohol.\u00a0 Yes, alcohol infused cupcakes, first of its kind in Southern California.<\/p>\n

You might think cupcakes are cute.\u00a0 But cuteness is not what they or their cupcakes are about.\u00a0 These two ladies have spent countless hours crafting and designing cupcakes that are fun, sexy and delicious for all to enjoy in any event or party.\u00a0 Although it’s alcohol infused, it’s safe for children because it’s baked out.<\/p>\n
I got a box of 4 cupcakes to sample.\u00a0 I was really impressed at how moist the cupcakes were.\u00a0 I cut them into halves.\u00a0 Allen and I ate half of each and put the other halves in the frig.\u00a0 The next day, they were still just as moist!\u00a0 So if you ever buy them, don’t worry about buying too many.\u00a0 You don’t have to finish them all at once.\u00a0 You can enjoy them for a couple of days.\u00a0 \ud83d\ude09<\/p>\n

Blow My Birthday Candle Signature Cupcake (above left) –\u00a0Madagascar vanilla cupcake topped with cream cheese frosting and finished with colorful rainbow sprinkles.\u00a0 This is the basic vanilla white cake.\u00a0 I appreciate that the frosting is not overly sweet.<\/p>\n
Will You Remember Me in the Morning? (above right) – Madagascar Vanilla & Kahlua batter with surprise bits of cinnamon streusel, topped with Hapa’s famous cream cheese frosting.\u00a0 The alcohol is very mild but enough to give it a little pizzazz.<\/p>\n

Red Velvet Stiletto (Above left) – Classic red velvet cupcake topped with cream cheese frosting, finished with a red candy heart.\u00a0 I know everyone makes a big fuss about Red Velvet and this one really deserves the praise.\u00a0 The color is lighter than most but the flavor much richer than most.<\/p>\n
Nuts About You (Above right)- Signature Valrhona Chocolate Cake with Peanut Butter Cream Cheese Frosting.\u00a0 This cupcake takes home the crown.\u00a0 I love chocolate cake and the peanut butter cream cheese just takes it over the top.\u00a0 It is not just good.\u00a0 It is amazingly good.\u00a0 Unless you are allergic to peanuts, this is a must try.<\/p>\n

All of the alcohol-infused cupcakes can be made non-alcoholic.\u00a0 I don’t drink and I find the alcohol very mild and pleasant.<\/p>\n

We also got to try The Hot Cupcake Sundae (above left) –\u00a0Valrhona Chocolate Jameson cupcake topped with vanilla ice cream, vanilla bean whipped cream and Oreo cookie crumbs.\u00a0 I was too busy talking to Akemi and the ice cream slowly melted away.\u00a0 Nevertheless, it was still delicious.\u00a0 Make sure you get one when you go pick up your order of cupcakes.<\/p>\n
