Sedona, often referred to as ‘Red Rock Country’, is about 120 miles north of Phoenix.\u00a0 I had been there once in 1986 when I lived in Phoenix and fell in love with it.\u00a0 When Allen and I were in Phoenix last May (2011) photographing an engagement session, we decided to mix pleasure with work and make a mini vacation visiting Grand Canyon and Sedona neither of which he has visited.<\/p>\n

We rented a jeep from Barlow Jeep Rentals<\/a> because some of the trails were quite steep and rocky. \u00a0 Normally I am the one driving because I tend to get motion sickness.\u00a0 But on this adventure, I gladly relinquished the steering wheel to Allen.\"\"<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

There was a HUGE sink hole called Devil’s Kitchen Sinkhole.\u00a0 I guess if you fall in, you’d become the devil’s meal, thus the name ‘Kitchen’?\u00a0 \ud83d\ude00<\/p>\n

\"\"Then there was Seven Apache Pools.\u00a0 Well, don’t go jumping into them because they were pretty small.\u00a0 I didn’t try to see how deep they were.<\/p>\n

\"\"I was captivated by how blue\/white the sky was and how majestic the rocky mountains stood!<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

And who would have thought dessert plants could produce such beautiful flowers!<\/p>\n

\"\"Breathtaking chasm!<\/p>\n

\"\"There were many interesting formations, and I spotted this.\u00a0 It almost looked like a little girl playing hide and seek.\u00a0 Doesn’t it?<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

And this one looks like a flying dragon.\u00a0 The sun peeking through the tree was glorious!\u00a0 Even though it was May, Sedona’s weather was quite pleasant.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

Allen was busy capturing all the beauties!\u00a0 Me?\u00a0 Just snapping some guy who gets in my way a lot.\u00a0 LOL!<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

There was even a 700 year old Sinaguan Honanki Indian ruins.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

If you’ve never been to Sedona, I hope my images give you a glimpse of this beautiful playground.<\/p>\n
