<\/p>\nIt was not easy writing my own vows. It took weeks.\u00a0 Tears welled up\u00a0 in my eyes so much every time I tried to finish.<\/p>\n

For those who didn’t make it, here it is:<\/p>\n “Allen, when I first met you 5102 days ago on August 10, 1998, I couldn\u2019t have ever imagined that I would be meeting my future husband.\u00a0 I am so glad I didn\u2019t cancel on you when you told me you had long but thinning hair.\u00a0 It wasn\u2019t your hair but the smile that made an impression on our first date.\u00a0 And that smile has continued to brighten my world in the last 14 years.\u00a0<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n We are an unlikely pair.\u00a0 You are a free-spirited artist and I, a boring IT techie.\u00a0 We are so different in so many ways but we find ourselves finishing each other\u2019s sentences all the time.\u00a0 Our relationship has been tested many times through the years.\u00a0 As painful and challenging as it\u2019s been, we\u2019ve grown stronger and closer through it all.\u00a0 \u00a0<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n \u00a0I met you when I was at the darkest place of my life.\u00a0 You accepted me for who I am and what I am without every judging me.\u00a0 When I am upset, you let me vent my frustrations for hours without ever telling me to shut up.\u00a0 You understand me like no one else does.\u00a0 You fill my empty heart with tolerance, patience, and most of all, love, every single day.\u00a0 I made you promise me that you would not die before me as I cannot imagine life without you.\u00a0 If there is truly a next life, I would marry you all over again.\u00a0 But please find me earlier and not wait until I am old and wrinkled, OK?<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n Allen –<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n You are my sun that always shines<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n You are my moon in the darkest nights<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n You are my star with a guiding light<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n You are my love that never dies<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n Home is where the heart is and with you, I am home!\u00a0\u00a0<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n On this day and everyday forward, I promise to continue to be your partner in life.\u00a0 To share with you all that I am and all that I have until the end of my days.\u00a0 I will love you always.”<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n
