{"id":157,"date":"2011-08-31T17:03:22","date_gmt":"2011-08-31T17:03:22","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/wendyfulworld.com\/?p=157"},"modified":"2017-05-22T11:32:08","modified_gmt":"2017-05-22T18:32:08","slug":"kim-tar-restaurant","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/wendyfulworld.com\/?p=157","title":{"rendered":"Kim Tar Restaurant"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>There is nothing fancy about Kim Tar.\u00a0 In fact, this restaurant is old, small, and a little run-down if you ask me.\u00a0 But that does not deter me from coming back because it feels like &#8216;home&#8217;.\u00a0 The very first Kim Tar Restaurant I went to was in San Gabriel some 23 years ago.\u00a0 Back then there were at least 1\/2 dozen chain locations if not more, all run by family members.\u00a0 As competition grew, they have closed down a few, but this one in Artesia remains strong.\u00a0 Their food is not the best, but it&#8217;s comfort food that I grew up with in Taiwan, something I carve especially when I am under the weather.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-165\" title=\"KT_JPEG\" src=\"http:\/\/wendyfulworld.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/08\/KT_JPEG.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"681\" height=\"850\" srcset=\"https:\/\/wendyfulworld.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/08\/KT_JPEG.jpg 681w, https:\/\/wendyfulworld.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/08\/KT_JPEG-240x300.jpg 240w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 681px) 100vw, 681px\" \/>The restaurant&#8217;s main specialty is Hieu Tieu, Guo Tiao, Kuey Teow, or Flat Rice Noodle, however you want to call it.\u00a0 You can get the thin one (much like Pho noodle) or the big one.\u00a0 I prefer the big one.\u00a0 The Seafood Rice Noodle Soup has fish cake, fish ball, fish filet, squid, shrimp, and intimation crab.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-169\" title=\"KT-3151\" src=\"http:\/\/wendyfulworld.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/08\/KT-3151.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"850\" height=\"567\" srcset=\"https:\/\/wendyfulworld.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/08\/KT-3151.jpg 850w, https:\/\/wendyfulworld.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/08\/KT-3151-300x200.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 850px) 100vw, 850px\" \/>The House Special Rice Noodle Soup has Pig Ear, Fish ball, Fish Cake, Shrimp, Chicken, and Ground Pork.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-170\" title=\"KT-3152\" src=\"http:\/\/wendyfulworld.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/08\/KT-3152.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"850\" height=\"567\" srcset=\"https:\/\/wendyfulworld.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/08\/KT-3152.jpg 850w, https:\/\/wendyfulworld.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/08\/KT-3152-300x200.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 850px) 100vw, 850px\" \/>There are also Stri Fried Rice Noodle Plates.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-168\" title=\"KT_JPEG4\" src=\"http:\/\/wendyfulworld.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/08\/KT_JPEG4.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"681\" height=\"850\" srcset=\"https:\/\/wendyfulworld.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/08\/KT_JPEG4.jpg 681w, https:\/\/wendyfulworld.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/08\/KT_JPEG4-240x300.jpg 240w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 681px) 100vw, 681px\" \/>And then there is their version of Pad Si Ew and Plain Egg Noodle Soup.
