Brunch At Tortilla Jo’s With Bottomless Mimosa

If Disneyland is the happiest place, Downtown Disney has to be a close second. It’s a great place for friends and family to hang out with so many restaurants, shops and entertainment. If you are here on the weekend and you love Mexican Cuisine, you definitely don’t want to miss Tortilla Jo’s brunch! It’s served Saturday and Sunday 9:00AM – Noon.

The restaurant is a lot more spacious than I thought with vibrant colors inside and out. Downstairs is where the open kitchen is that you can watch where the culinary magic happens. The semi-spiral staircase leads to another dining area upstairs with a full bar and a beautiful view to the promenade from the outdoor patio and balcony. When we arrived, the tables were already setup with festive table settings and beautiful bouquests! As with most of the traditional Mexican restaurant, Chips and Salas are a must and complimentary! Why not start your brunch with a Bottomless Mimosa?  Every entree comes with fresh fruit. On the day of the media tasting, we got to share this beautiful plate of Assortment of Fresh Fruit! Great way to prepare our palates and appetite for more deliciousness to follow. Apple Spring Salad (Julienned Gala Apples, Jicama, Mango, Watermelon Radish, Watercress, Toasted Marcona Almonds, Oatmeal, Dried Blueberries, Vanilla Yogurt Dressing) is new on the menu. I love the combination of the crunchy fruits, radishes and nuts with the tastes of sweet and tarts all in one bite! They just all work together so well.

Tortilla Jo's-18Huevos Rancheros (Corn tortilla, Refried Beans, two Sunny Side Up Eggs, Salsa Ranchera, Cotija Cheese, served with Papas a la Mexicana). It’s a simple dish but very comforting.

I am very particular about French Toast but this Cinnamon French Toast (Brioche, Cinnamon, Candied Walnuts, Cajeta Syrup, Horchata Whipped Cream) earns high marks on my book. Everyone at the table loved it so much, we asked for seconds!

Machaca con Huevos Chile Relleno (Shredded Beef and Egg stuffed Poblano Chile, Smoked Tomato Salsa, served with Mexican Rice and Refried Beans). This dish should probably be on the menu all the time because it’s flavorful and hearty. I think we can eat it any time of the day.

Mini Apple Chimichangas and Mini Churros are also served with any entree. No, they won’t let you leave without your desserts! Don’t you just love the thoughtfulness?

Everyone had a great time and I’ve added Tortilla Jo’s to my list of Downtown Disney Favorites! When was the last time you went? Perhaps it’s time to visit again soon.
