The Mardi Gras never ends at Ralph Brennan’s Jazz Kitchen

Located right in the heart of Downtown Disney, Ralph Brennan’s Jazz Kitchen serves the finest Louisiana ingredients throughout its menus. The building is a “two-story replica of traditional French Quarter architecture which includes a ground floor, interior, open-air courtyard flanked by a quick service dining facility (Creole Cafe) and a New Orleans-style jazz club (Flambeaux’s).  Upstairs in the Carnival Club you’ll find traditional New Orleans dining rooms and an outdoor ‘Jazz balcony’ with seating that overlooks the revelry of Downtown Disney.”

I have visited RB Jazz Kitchen and attended an open house mixer before, but I hadn’t met Mr. Ralph Brennan (pictured below left) until now. He is such a southern gentleman. Despite his success, he remains so humble and down to earth. It was also great to see Mr. Bruno Duarte (pictured below right), Sales & Special Events Manager, again. If you’ve been here, you know the music is part of RB Jazz Kitchen culture. We were greeted with delicious cocktails and a live Jazz band (Amanda Castro Band) and Blues Guitarist/Singer, Brother Yuself. The open house mixer was an opportunity for everyone to experience RB Jazz Kitchen’s catering service and event spaces. I must say, everything I’ve tried was extraordinary and the staff was always professional and courteous.

There were so many delicious tray-passed appetizers!
Muffaletta Skewers ~ Ham, Salami, Mortadella, Provolone Cheese (GF). Mini Chicken & Waffle Sliders with Maple Syrup (pictured above top) was my favorite and Fried Okra (pictured above bottom).

Oyster Rockefeller and Seafood Gazpacho in Tasting Cups (GF). Buffalo Oysters were light and crunchy. I dare you to just eat one. Impossible! 🙂 Everyone was so impressed with the Shrimp Cocktail Boat! Mac & Cheese with Andouille Sausages or Crawfish. But guess what? I mixed both. 😉Clams with White Wine Reduction and Mussels with Red Wine Reduction served with Garlic Toast. My goodness, these were exceptionally fresh and tasty!

I was most intrigued by the Martini Salad station where I picked all the ingredients I wanted for the salad and they shook it in a martini mixer. I loved the salad mix I created which went perfectly with the carved Prime RibOf course no meal is ever complete without desserts! The famous Beignets, a New Orleans classic, French donuts deep fried and topped with powdered sugar. There was also Cotton Candy which made me feel like a kid again.

Bananas Foster, another classic New Orleans dessert of bananas, brown sugar, rum and banana liqueur, over vanilla bean ice cream. Flambeed table-side for two!

There are several event facilities available for parties of 16 all the way up to 600 guests. The Flambeaux dining room resounds with the excitement of a New Orleans style Jazz Club. The open-air Courtyard, complete with a whimsical fountain, takes you back to French Quarter. The Wine Room is perfect for an intimate gathering. The Parlor Room is whimsical New Orleans style meets casual-fine dining. Want to see the fireworks from Disneyland? The the Jazz Balcony is where you want to be. The Queen’s Room is filled with unique character depicting the exuberance of Mardi Gras season in New Orleans.

Next time when you are planning a private or corporate event, give RB Jazz Kitchen a call. They now also offer off-site catering as well. From festive decorations to flavor-filled menus, they will create an ultimate experience for you and your guests.
